There’s something about looking at a beautiful wallpaper first thing when you open your laptop or phone that just sets the tone for your whole day. Plus, you look at your screen dozens of times a day. It’s literally the first thing your brain takes in whenever you pick up your phone.
That’s why I’ve become totally addicted to using soft love aesthetic wallpapers on all my devices. Cues of softness, love, and tenderness subtly tell your brain and body that you’re in a safe place. Here’s how to make your screen the ultimate hug for your eyes.

Why Your Wallpaper Actually Matters More Than You Think
We spend so much time looking at our screens. But what we often don’t realize is that when we open our laptops or phones every day, that very first image we see taps into our nervous system.
If it’s filled with stress-inducing emails or stressful news notifications — which happen as soon as you open your browser if you don’t actively disable those features — your entire day can start from a place of stress.
Your wallpaper is one of the easiest parts of your tech that you can control. I have covered everything from the psychology of aesthetically pleasing technology to why aesthetics are so important in this post (it’s linked in the tweet below), but it really boils down to this:
When you wake up and your environment is filled with beauty and softness — starting with your phone wallpaper — you subconsciously give yourself permission to mirror that beauty in how you show up in the world.
What Exactly Is the Soft Love Aesthetic?
Before we jump into types of wallpapers and ideas, let’s make sure we’re on the same page about what exactly this aesthetic is.
When I think of the soft love aesthetic, I think of gentle and muted colors like blush pink, dusty lavender, cream, vintage lace, and muted gold. Notes of “you are safe” and “you are loved” show up over and over again.
Typography is almost always handwritten. Perfectly smooth fonts don’t feel “soft.” Visuals are soft focus: watercolors bleed into each other, florals look like paintings, and some things might be slightly out of focus.
These wallpapers make me feel like I’m living inside a giant love letter. They sit at the intersection of cottagecore, romantic academia, and fairycore — borrowing elements from each but truly focusing on making you feel softer than you already are.

Soft Love Aesthetic Color Palettes
Blush and Cream
Okay, so maybe this is actually the sixth soft love color palette since I started this list, but blush and cream are life. If you’re into the softer, “pink” side of the soft love spectrum, this combo is queen.
Blush pink is feminine but not overbearing. Cream feels warming and homey. Together, they’re my brain’s idea of what the inside of a Baby’s Basket Bakery would look like if they only sold things made with TLC.
If you’re new to the soft aesthetic world, start here.
Dusty Lavender and Sage
If blush isn’t really your thing, or you want a slightly more ethereal color combo, dusty lavender and sage is where it’s at. I love this color combo so much because it feels romantic but not too “pink.” It also feels grounded and earthy.
Warm Ivory and Antique Rose
If you want to feel like you stepped into a Jane Austen novel the second you open your screen, ivory and antique rose is the perfect combo. This feels like old love letters and brittle dried roses tucked into libraries.
Perfect for the “old souls” among us.
Baby Blue and Soft White
Soft love aesthetic wallpapers don’t have to be pink! If you want something slightly more whimsical and gentle, embrace the softer side of blue.
One of my favorite color combos is baby blue and crisp white. Blue feels softly melancholy to me. It feels like sunrise, like waking up in your bed knowing that someone you love is lying next to you, sound asleep.
Typography for this palette would probably include handwriting that looks like it was scribbled in cursive when you barely knew someone loved you so deeply.

Muted Peach and Gold
Last but certainly not least, another one of my personal favorites is muted peach and gold. Peach feels warm and comforting. It’s one of those colors that feels like sunshine filtered through a window.
Paired with gold details, you’ve got a wallpaper that feels like wrapping yourself in goodness.
Types of Soft Love Aesthetic Wallpapers You Should Try
Once you know your color palette, you can branch out into the different types of wallpapers that fit under the soft aesthetic umbrella. Here are my favorites:
Watercolor Florals
Of course watercolor florals are going to be on this list. Because there’s something about imperfectly painted roses, peonies, and wildflowers that feels so wonderfully soft.
Watercolor always feels therapeutic to me. So I love wallpapers that have this gorgeous watercolor bleed mixed with illustrations of flowers.
But remember: you don’t need realistic-looking flowers. Beauty is found in imperfection.
Handwritten Words
My favorite wallpapers are the ones that double as reminders to love yourself more gently. I love opening my phone to see reminders like “you are deeply loved” or “soften, you are safe” splashed across my screen.
Here are some of my favorites:
- You are worthy of the love you give away
- Be gentle with yourself
- Softness is your strength
- You are someone’s favorite part of their day
Vintage Couples
Think vintage illustrations of sweet, romantic couples. Softly sketched silhouettes underneath the moonlight. Old-timey postcards with fading ink and forgotten messages scrawled inside.
This aesthetic feels less “newly in love” and more “welcomed into your grandma’s scrapbook.”

Soft Love Flat Lays
I love flat lays so much. To me, they feel like warm afternoons and late-night writing sessions. Starbucks cups, craft paper, dried lavender flowers, mini perfume bottles — if it feels warm and intimate, chances are it belongs in a soft love aesthetic flat lay.
Abstract Washes
For people who love the soft aesthetic but don’t want any defined shapes on their wallpaper, there’s the beautiful world of abstract wallpapers.
Think watercolor washes in your softest color. Think linen textures in warm ivory. Think gradients that fade from peach to white.
Storybook Illustrations
Pastels, pink, and roses — falling into a fairytale sounds about right.
I love soft aesthetic wallpapers that make me feel like I’ve been dropped into some kind of illustrated storybook. Small houses surrounded by roses. Tiny people reading books under weeping willow trees. Moonlit gardens filled with fireflies.
These wallpapers feel like magic.
Where to Find the Best Soft Love Aesthetic Wallpapers
There are actually way more options than you think, and the majority of them are free.
Pinterest honestly has some of the best and most curated selections of soft love aesthetic wallpapers. If you search “soft love aesthetic wallpaper,” “blush pink phone wallpaper,” “romantic aesthetic background,” or “pastel dream wallpaper,” you will literally find thousands of pins.
I have three boards dedicated to this on Pinterest and I’m constantly adding to them.
Etsy
One of my favorite things about Etsy is that there are so many indie artists who make wallpaper packets that you can purchase.
I’ve bought wallpaper packs from Etsy before and they’re so affordable — and you’re also supporting small artists, which is always a win.
Canva
As someone who loves making things on Canva, this is another great option. Canva is such an easy platform for creating your own soft aesthetic wallpapers.
Pick your palette. Choose your font. Keep it simple: add an affirmation or an aesthetically pleasing floral graphic. Boom — you have a wallpaper that you created.
Tumblr
Believe it or not, Tumblr is actually really great for aesthetic-related content. I’ve found some of the most carefully curated Tumblr blogs by searching for the “soft love aesthetic.”
Unsplash/Pexels
Both of these websites are filled with beautiful, high-quality photography that you can use as your wallpaper.
Search “soft floral,” “blush aesthetic,” or “pastel romance” and you will find gorgeous wallpaper options that are completely free.

Tips for Matching Your Wallpaper to How You Want to Feel
This is something I like to think about a lot. If you want to feel softer and more loving, surround yourself with images that make you feel that way — not only on your wallpaper, but on your phone case and in the widgets and fonts you use on your home screen.
I know so many people who are so committed to the soft love aesthetic that they change their Apple app icons to match their wallpaper — think blush pink or cream-colored app icons — and they create little widget stacks in soft colors so that their entire home screen looks cohesive.
It can truly transform your phone from something stressful to open into a beautiful little space that you love spending time in.
Wrap Up
Let’s make one thing clear: your wallpaper matters. The spaces we wake up to and spend our days staring at have such a massive impact on how we feel about ourselves and our lives.
If you want to wake up to more softness and love in your life, allow me to introduce you to the gentle magic of soft love aesthetic wallpapers.
